Our Practice
A practice built around the people it serves.
Khaolak Family was founded on the belief that legal counsel, particularly in family matters, should feel like a conversation — not a transaction.

How Khaolak Family came to be
Khaolak Family began from a simple observation: families navigating legal matters in Thailand — particularly international families, expatriates, and couples from different countries — often found the experience harder than it needed to be. Not because the law was unclear, but because the process felt rushed, impersonal, and difficult to follow.
Our practice was established to change that. We created a setting where clients are given time — time to speak, time to think, and time to understand the options available to them. Every engagement begins with a conversation, not a form.
We work in Patong, Phuket, from a quiet office that reflects the pace we bring to everything we do. Our clients include couples arranging their financial affairs before or after marriage, families pursuing adoption, and individuals who simply need a first, honest opinion on a family matter they have been carrying alone.
Our Mission
What we are here to do
Our mission is to make family legal counsel in Thailand accessible, clear, and conducted with genuine care. We measure our work not by speed or volume, but by whether each client leaves with greater clarity than they arrived with.
We explain the law in plain language, and we do not move on until each matter is understood.
Family decisions take time. We support that, rather than work against it.
Every consultation closes with a written summary, so nothing is left to memory or assumption.

Our Standards
How we conduct our practice
Thailand Bar Compliance
Our practice operates fully within the standards set by the Lawyers Council of Thailand. All legal opinions are provided by qualified, registered practitioners.
Strict Client Confidentiality
Everything shared with us remains private. Our confidentiality protocols exceed the minimum required by Thai legal professional standards.
Written Summary Standard
Every consultation produces a written record. This is a firm practice standard, not an optional extra — clarity in writing is part of the service.
No Pressure Engagement
We do not use follow-up campaigns or urgency tactics. If a client chooses not to continue after a first appointment, that choice is respected without comment.
Cross-Border Awareness
Family matters often involve more than one legal system. We maintain working knowledge of cross-border family law as it applies to international clients in Thailand.
Data Protection
Client data is stored securely and used only for the purpose of the engagement. We follow Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) in all data handling.
Family law counsel in Phuket
Family legal matters in Thailand carry particular nuance for international residents and visitors. Whether you are a long-term expatriate in Phuket, a couple with assets or children across different countries, or an individual facing a situation you have not encountered before, having access to a practitioner who understands both the Thai legal framework and your own circumstances matters considerably.
At Khaolak Family, we focus exclusively on family matters. This focus allows us to serve each client with the depth of attention their situation deserves. We are not a general practice dividing attention across unrelated areas — we are a family law office, and every client engagement reflects that.
Our office is in Patong, on Bangla Road, in the heart of Phuket's most internationally connected district. Clients reach us from across the island and from further afield — some travelling to Phuket specifically to address a family matter with a practice they feel comfortable with. We welcome those conversations, wherever they originate.
