From our clients
Margaret H.
British, Phuket resident
"I came for a first appointment not really knowing what I needed. The conversation was calm and thorough — I left with a clear written summary and a far better understanding of my situation. What struck me most was that nobody tried to sell me anything beyond the appointment itself."
First Appointment · April 2025
David & Thiranee T.
Australian–Thai couple, Phuket
"We were hesitant about a pre-nuptial agreement — it felt like a difficult topic to raise. Khaolak Family made it feel like a normal, constructive thing to do. The process was genuinely collaborative, and the final document reflected what we both wanted. We came away feeling closer to each other, which is not what we expected."
Pre-Nuptial Agreement · March 2025
Sarah K.
Canadian, Phuket expat
"We had started an adoption process in Canada before moving to Phuket, and the recognition process here felt overwhelming. Khaolak Family walked us through each step, kept us informed without us having to chase, and the whole thing resolved more smoothly than I had dared to expect. Response times could occasionally be a little faster, but the quality of advice was excellent."

James L.
British, Koh Samui-based
"I came in with a fairly complicated post-nuptial situation involving property in two countries. The advice I received was measured and clear — the counsel helped me see which aspects were actually within scope for Thai law and which weren't. That honesty saved considerable time and cost compared to what other practices had suggested."
Post-Nuptial Agreement · April 2025
Nadia M.
French, long-term Phuket resident
"The first appointment gave me exactly what I needed — a clear picture of my situation and the realistic options. The written summary was particularly useful; I shared it with family abroad to help them understand what was happening. Straightforward, professional, and kind in a way that legal advice rarely is."
First Appointment · May 2025
Robert & Pattama P.
Swedish–Thai, Phuket
"We pursued an adoption through Khaolak Family and found the support throughout the process to be genuinely solid. The paperwork was handled carefully and we always knew what stage we were at. There were some delays that were outside the practice's control, but we were kept informed throughout and never felt left in the dark."

How some engagements unfolded
These accounts have been shared with the agreement of the clients concerned. Identifying details have been adjusted at their request.
The Situation
A British couple living in Phuket wanted to prepare a pre-nuptial agreement before their wedding. One partner owned property in the UK; the other had family assets in Thailand. Previous legal quotes they had received felt unclear about what was actually included.
What We Did
We held a joint consultation to understand both parties' wishes, then prepared a draft agreement that addressed the relevant assets clearly. A follow-up review appointment allowed both partners to ask questions and request adjustments before the document was finalised.
The Outcome
Agreement finalised within three weeks of the first consultation. Both parties felt the process had been transparent and that the final document accurately reflected their agreement. The wedding took place the following month.
"We had been putting off dealing with this. The appointment made it feel manageable, and the summary they sent afterwards was something we both found genuinely reassuring."
The Situation
A Canadian family who had completed an adoption in Thailand some years earlier needed formal recognition of that adoption when they returned to Canada for an extended period. The Thai adoption had not been processed through the relevant channels at the time.
What We Did
We reviewed the original adoption documentation and identified what additional steps were needed to produce a legally recognisable record. We prepared the supporting documentation and coordinated with the relevant Thai authorities on behalf of the family.
The Outcome
The recognition process was completed over approximately eleven weeks. The family received documentation that met both Thai and Canadian legal requirements. The process involved more steps than initially anticipated, and we kept them informed throughout.
"It was a relief to hand this over to someone who clearly knew the process. They kept us updated and never made us feel that our questions were a burden."
